Header: Store Identification
The Target bullseye logo, store number (e.g., T-2279), full street address, city, state, ZIP, and phone number. This identifies the exact Target location.
Item Lines: Products & Prices
Each item shows a description, optional DPCI code (department-class-item number like 072-08-1234), quantity, and unit price. Discounts appear as negative amounts with labels like CARTWHEEL or CIRCLE.
Subtotal & Tax Calculation
The subtotal sums all items before tax. Sales tax is calculated based on the state and local rate, with tax-exempt items (like groceries in some states) excluded. The total combines subtotal plus tax.
Payment Method Block
Shows the payment type (Visa, Mastercard, REDcard, cash, etc.), last 4 digits of the card, authorization code, and transaction amount. REDcard payments include a 5% savings line.
Transaction Details
Includes the date and time of purchase, terminal number, cashier name or ID, transaction number, and a unique receipt ID used for returns and lookups.
Barcode & Return Policy
A scannable barcode at the bottom encodes the transaction for returns and exchanges. Below it is Target's return policy summary, typically 90 days for most items, 30 days for electronics.

Tips for an accurate Target receipt
Use the Thermal or Receipt font
Real Target receipts are printed on thermal paper. Selecting the Thermal or Receipt font in the editor gives the most authentic look, especially for printed or photographed use.
Match the correct state tax rate
Select the store's state from the tax dropdown to auto-fill the base rate. For extra accuracy, add the local city or county tax (usually 0.5–2% on top of the state rate).
Use Target's item description format
Target receipts use ALL CAPS descriptions with brand name first, then product type. For example: 'GOOD & GATHER MILK 1GAL' or 'UP&UP PAPER TOWELS 6PK'.
Include realistic DPCI codes
Target's DPCI (Department-Class-Item) numbers follow a 3-2-4 format like 049-02-0876. The first 3 digits indicate the department (049 = household, 057 = electronics, 267 = grocery).
Set a realistic time and date
Target stores are typically open 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Set your receipt time within these hours. Weekend dates typically show higher item counts.
Download in grayscale for thermal look
Enable grayscale mode before downloading. Real thermal receipts are black on white: color logos and text look less authentic on a printed receipt.
