What are the tax codes on a Costco receipt?
Costco receipts use letter codes next to each item: 'A' indicates the standard taxable rate (non-food items), 'E' indicates food/grocery items that may be tax-exempt or taxed at a reduced rate depending on your state, and 'F' or 'H' indicates FSA/HSA-eligible health items. The tax summary at the bottom shows the total for each tax category.
