Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using CheckoutReceipt ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Service.

Acceptable Use

Legitimate Use Only

IMPORTANT: This service is designed for LEGITIMATE receipt generation only.

You agree to use our Service only for lawful purposes, including:

  • Bookkeeping and financial record-keeping
  • Customer support and receipt reprints for legitimate purchases
  • Training and demonstration purposes
  • UX mockups and design prototypes
  • Personal record-keeping

Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to use our Service to:

  • Falsify transactions or create fraudulent receipts
  • Misrepresent purchases or financial information
  • Commit tax fraud, insurance fraud, or any other illegal activity
  • Deceive businesses, individuals, or government entities
  • Create receipts for products or services not actually purchased
  • Use receipts to obtain refunds, exchanges, or benefits fraudulently

Violation of these Terms may result in immediate account termination and may be reported to law enforcement authorities.

User Accounts

When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

Subscriptions and Billing

Free Tier and Watermark

Receipts generated on the free tier include a visible watermark. Removing the watermark requires an active paid subscription. Current pricing is shown on the pricing page and subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis.

Paid Subscriptions

Some parts of the Service are billed on a subscription basis. You will be billed in advance on a recurring basis.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Refunds

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us at hello [at] checkoutreceipt [dot] com to request a refund.

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by CheckoutReceipt and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your Content

You retain all rights to the receipts you create using our Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the Service to you.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The Service is free of viruses or harmful components

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall CheckoutReceipt be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

You are solely responsible for how any document generated through the Service is used. CheckoutReceipt bears no responsibility for any generated document that is used unlawfully, deceptively, or in violation of these Terms or any applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CheckoutReceipt from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any fraudulent or illegal use of receipts generated through our Service

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law provisions. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms.
